There are only a few things originated in the 80's I can see myself doing again: loop earrings, leggings and the colour purple.

I found myself particularly intrigued by purple recently... It even got to the point of me obsessing over this pair of ankle strap sandals by Fluevog, and painting my toe nails with a matching purple nailpolish. The result on its own was near revolting, as it made my skin look so pale, my feet looked as if they belong to the nearest post-mortem freezer. Ouch! Nevertheless, with the slightly-punk-twist on a pair of Tango sandals, a bouquet of purple tulips and cheap but purposeful little purple handbag, I think I got my perfect purple look!

You'd never catch me with these wearing a purple dress, by the way, should not and would not be purple. Either my halter olive dress, brown shoulderless dress, or a pair of jeans with a muted dark but funky top.

Heart Shoes

I was window shopping today for accessories at Icing by Claire, and spotted these cheap and cute black pumps - simple but with a red plastic heart detail. These can be had for $30 or so (after taxes and all) and are not half bad. They are not half comfortable either, but who cares? It's not like comfort stops people from buying Manolo Blahnik's for hundreds of dollars ;)

The socks, by the way, are my favourite beige opaque lycra anklets from Secret. They have become a staple in my sock drawer... Along with the black version, of course.

Blue Nail Polish

"Miss June" peep toe wedge sandals in turquoise and fuschia suede by John Fluevog.
Nailpolish: Sally Hansen's "Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear" colour no. 23. The brush is the crappiest quality you can imagine, but the colour is exactly what these toes need with these sandals. Sometimes.

P.s. I rarely opt for experimental nailpolish colours, but I'm on a very tight shoe budget right now, so some of the variety in my life has to cost less than $5.

Tango Talk

What can be more odd than a guy who wants to" talk about it"?
Probably a guy who wants to talk instead of dancing tango with you. Rather, discuss why he thinks your moves are wrong, and how it's too bad your are not 10 inches taller!
Yes, it happened to me today. Only my second tango class, and this guy, who seems to be a complete loser, thinks he knows everything and needs to teach me how to dance.
Just because the guys are suppose to lead (or learn how to lead). doesn't mean they are suppose to tell you what to do in the dance. Some don't seem to get it though. They want to get a full control over everything, including your ears. I wish I could say "just shut up and let the instructors do the teaching"!
Instead, I just said "let's just dance and stop talking". Than I went home and found myself locked out because left my keys at home, and the babysitter (aka my brand-new X) was taking a shower and didn't answer the buzzer!
Of course, he didn't bother putting his shirt on properly when he got out. If I'd done that, I would get into trouble "seducing him". Apparently he thinks it's ok to do it. Than twenty minutes later, instead of just leave and let be he need to ask me how I'm doing, just to have the pleasure of seeing me crying.
Aside from that, it was a fine night. Dancing could never be funner (except for Mr. too-tall know-it-all and never-shut-up guy and so on).

Socks: nude nylon trouser socks from Secret, with little silicone circles on the bottom to avoid slipping (supposedly...).

OK, I admit it. I have a think for yellow shoes. But, I managed to try a few without even getting them. Maybe having one perfect yellow item on my wishlist helped... Maybe trying them on and having a secret photo shoot at the shoe store was satisfying enough.

The other pair, another sassy open toe sandal, yellow patent leather with black trim, open instep and a with a more modest heel, by Browns. Sale was abour $59.99, so it's quite an accomplishment that they didn't end up on my shoe rack...
