Irregular Choice Office Window Shopping

DSC02570.JPG, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Irregular design by Irregular Choice: the suede wrapped bow detail continues on to the outer side of the foot, and is held in place by a snap-button. These are cute, but seemed somewhat
clumsy on my feet. Not sure why. I just don't think I could pull off the right statements with these ones.

Blue Nail Polish

Blue Nail Polish, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

"Miss June" peep toe wedge sandals in turquoise and fuschia suede by John Fluevog.
Nailpolish: Sally Hansen's "Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear" colour no. 23. The brush is the crappiest quality you can imagine, but the colour is exactly what these toes need with these sandals. Sometimes.

P.s. I rarely opt for experimental nailpolish colours, but I'm on a very tight shoe budget right now, so some of the variety in my life has to cost less than $5.

Lately I've Been Lemming These Pointy Red Shoes

I really, REALLY need to get good dancing shoes. These might just do... Even though they are not "real" dancing shoes...

Friday Night - Window Shopping

I don't usually go shoe-shopping (or shall I say shoe window shopping?) on Friday. But I did so this Friday becasue of the Fluevog sample sale! These are the shoes I tried yesterday night at the sample sale at Fluevog's. Despite the pinty toes, they are so comfortable, the leather is buttery soft on your skin... Now I can't stop thinking of them!

Trendspotting: Sorta 80's Shiny Pointy Flats

When an entire decade, fashion-wise, groove comes the second time around, it can be a bit unnerving. This is probably due to two reasons:
1) It make you remember your crappy adolescence
2) It make you realize that you are probably considered old right now, because you were adolescent when all this yucky stuff came out, and you are the only one to be embarrassed when being reminded of those days...

Now, those bright neon leggings, mismatched colourful leather jackets, huge loop earrings and patent leather pointy boots might be cool if you've never seen them before (except for in Pretty in Pink and Wall Street); but if you worn that inferior trashy style when you were 13 and got your first pimple and was depressed because you mom didn't get why you want to dress like that, you won't find this whole 80's thing going on now to be quite a demeaning experience.

In the light of all of the above, it is quite refreshing to find things that could, theoretically, appear in the 80's and match that vulgar fashion phase, yet are just ever so slightly different, contemporarily graceful and elegant, and utterly wearable.

Such is the new "Shoe Family" from Fluevog - The 11th Hour. These shiny pointy flats are just so adorable you want to purchase them by the bulk, in all colours. They are made of an interesting hybrid between suede and patent leather, giving them the best of both worlds: the buttery softness of suede along the glamorous futuristic shine of patent leather. The patent leather treatment was applied to little diamonds on the suede, therefore retaining the flexibility and softness of that particular leather breed. They come in two designs - Tardy (balerina flat) and Lately (Mary Jane), ad in three appropriately bold colours: black, red and yellow.

Blue & Orange

Blue&Orange, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Shoes: Diesel ballerina flat sneakers of satin and suede
Socks: None

I love these in the summer - I often wear them like sandals, with no socks, or with sheer , shimmering nylons. The satin makes them look fancy, and the design is a bit futuristic. If it was possible to just hang out on a spaceship, these would be my slippers... Today I wore them with my orange corduroy recyled pants skirt. I also love wearing these with beige or cream clothes, to add a little of colour accent but still maintain the summery beige look (which helps me tremendously in maintaining my aloofness against the heat).

Trying to make a point...

Trying to make a point..., originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

I'm trying to make a point of Being strong. Being happy. Being beautiful.

This is what I wore today, and I hope my point is clear. I am enjoying life for what it is:
Patent leather kitten heel Mary Janes: Bronx
Fishnets: can't remember the brand...
Wool Coat: The Gap
Umbrella: The Umbrella Shop (hand made)
Little Black Dress: Jessica (I got it from a thrift shop ages ago and it's good as new and valid as ever).
The fabric here, although synthetic I suspect, has the fantastic texture of brushed silk. It's thick and it's fabulous, feels classy and solid). I usually would prefer to pair it with these shoes actually - the suede works better with it than the patent leather. I will tell you more about the suede wedges later, they really deserve a full entry onto themselves!
Here are some photos to give you an idea:

P.s. I was playing lots of dress up today, but decided to go with the patent leather shoes for a practical reason: I went for Salsa dancing tonight, and the wedges could not work for that!

Spring Break Up

Moccasine Boots 05, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

My original intention for this blog was to celebrate the kinky fun of shoes. Little did I know what this spring would hold for me. I never thought spring could be so sad, it’s always been a happy season for me. I never thouhg I would have a break-up in spring. It’s such a beautiful, happy season and I am always in good along with the tweeting horny birds and the erotic display of flowers. Even my birthday is in the spring, so you will always happy at this time of year. But not this time around, because this is what happened. Me and my beloved and most dear foot-fetishist boyfriend are broken up. My heart is broken up. And so I am afraid that I will be using this blog as a shoulder to cry on and not just as a happy shoe and fashion show off as I intended.
It will be really sad to not be able to share my shoe fetish with him anymore (unless we get together again, which is not improbable, as we still love each other very much). I am going to need this blog even more than ever to ease the pain…

Shoes: Hush Puppies' Genie boots - suede moccasin style
Socks: Brown leggings and nude ankle socks
Bag: Handcrafted from a craft show
