Miz Mooz

Spotted these lovely sling-back flats at a sidewalk sale in Chris+Kris in Oakridge mall. The cuteness is in the details. Just look at these little hearts, buttons and the tiny window for a sassy but subtle toe-cleavage peep-show. The patent leather and pointy toe is also a tip-off for the sassy cuteness.

They come in two colour combinations of black and white (in case you haven't noticed, I have a soft spot for that non-colour combination, especially when it comes to shoes and accessories).

These were made in China for Gazith, an Israeli label. Miz Mooz, by the way, means a flirt in Israeli slang. Rather than "Ms. Mooz".

These will be fantastic with layered knee or thigh highs, a mini puffy skirt and maybe even some leg warmers. Thinking about it, I really should have tried them on. Or just took them home with me for a little dress up party.

Gazith - The Morning After

Gazith - Front, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

I really love the classy, muted look of these shoes and all that go with them. It makes me feel calm and happy. They are getting more comfortable by the minute, but need some more stretching.

I am wearing a skirt by Zachari's Smile, made of vintage denim textiles. The capri-length leggings from Fox have polka dots and a lacy finish for an extra feinine touch. The socks are opaque beige colour from Secret I believe, and what I love about them most besides the stable texture and suede appearance is the fact that the top seems almost unfinished. This creates a comfortable sock and an even appearance which makes this look possible...

Black Shoes and White Orchids

Remember the shoes I told you I've got as a birthday present? Well, here they are, finally! And aren't they ever adorable!

They remind me of Alice in Wonderland for some reason. The straps close with a large round button that is black. If the button was white, it would have been perfect... The kitten heels are short and sturdy, and I they won't get stuck in little holes on the pavement the way some of them do...

I know the lighting could use some improvement, and I will be taking more photos in daylight and post them on my Flickr account for your future reference and admiration.

My granny gave them to me. She is ever so sweet. But not just because of her exemplary generosity and kindness of spirit (she always says she wants to give her grandchildren with a warm, living hand, not a cold one from the grave and jokes when she wonders what will run out first: her money or her life...). My grandma is also the most lively 80+ I've ever seen, she has a boyfriend (I don't even have one for crying out loud, and I am 50+ years younger than her!), travels the world without suffering from jet lag (in a minute you'll see what happens to ME when I'm in Jet Lag LOL!), and never complains about pain or anguish.

I am wearing them here with my favourite nylons - sheer and glittery to flatter the subtle toe cleavage of the shoe.

Trial Socks

Trial Socks 01, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Most trial socks suck. Of course, they are not meant to be durable or elegant; They are just there for the sockless or nyloneless customers, and are designed to just add the extra layer and feel so that you know more or less how the shoe will feel when worn with nylons. And of course, they have to be super cheap and come out of what looks like a tissue box. They usually look like a cross between a dirty cobwebs and a tied sausage baggy. They hang loosely in an indefinite location between the ankle and the heel and look like they are tied at the toe like a baloon’s ass.

These ones, however, which I used when trying on shoes at Gazith, can pass as real nylons. Cheap ones can look very sexy sometimes, especially when they are made of that fine knit of very thin thread, making it seem transparent and feel like a finely dusted spider web. But they must look like socks and be constructed as ones. The elastic around the ankle is precise and even and actually knows were it is, which also helps when trying a variety of shoe heights when in store.

Curious to know which shoes I got at Gazith? Wait for the next post!
