Miz Mooz

Spotted these lovely sling-back flats at a sidewalk sale in Chris+Kris in Oakridge mall. The cuteness is in the details. Just look at these little hearts, buttons and the tiny window for a sassy but subtle toe-cleavage peep-show. The patent leather and pointy toe is also a tip-off for the sassy cuteness.

They come in two colour combinations of black and white (in case you haven't noticed, I have a soft spot for that non-colour combination, especially when it comes to shoes and accessories).

These were made in China for Gazith, an Israeli label. Miz Mooz, by the way, means a flirt in Israeli slang. Rather than "Ms. Mooz".

These will be fantastic with layered knee or thigh highs, a mini puffy skirt and maybe even some leg warmers. Thinking about it, I really should have tried them on. Or just took them home with me for a little dress up party.

Tractor Helmet Shoes and Other Freakish Trends

Tractor Helmet Shoes, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

These disgusting stilettos are apparently going to make an appearance on ELLE this August, according to my unsolicited sources. While the entire photo spread makes an excellent eye candy, and while I do like the use of shiny materials in shoes (just notice how many patent leather detailed shoes I have in my collection will reveal I do have a soft spot for glossy leather).
Design wise, the particular pair above seems to be taking inspiration from both tractor tires and protective gear for those among us who do a lot of roller-blading in primary colours. The whole closure apparatus seems to be suggesting this.
Could it be a metaphor for the childish nature of shoe-holics? Or is it possible that it is just an exercise in pushing the boundaries of ugliness while giving up completely on practicality?
I know I wouldn't be getting these. Or looking for them. A photo is just enough for me.

The ones below, on the other hand, seem to be classy while using some unusual design details, and, again, primary colours. I would have actually tried them on if I've seen them in shoe shop. Their texture and flow is inviting and intriguing enough to spark one's imagination.

Pinky's Escape

Yellow Strappy Sandal, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Yellow strapy sandals, can't remember the brand and will have to go back and check into that. They were pretty, yes. They were even sorta comfy or at least more wearable than many other stilettos I've tried recently. However, the pinky-toe seemed to be escaping from the strap in a way that looked appealing while feeling like loosing a toe any minute. Quite a peculiar feeling, I tell ya!

What say you about the escaping pinky tow? Boo-hiss or sassy bliss?

Above: this is how they make the foot arch curve in a suggestive way, as if saying "look at me!"

Again: Really Hot Diesel Stilettos

Hot Diesel Stilettos, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Obsessing over rmy new Diesel retro stilettos. These are called "Fame" and I couldn't for the life of me find any images or mention of them anywhere online. Diesel must have been keeping them as a secret for some reason... Also, I've only seen them in one brick&mortar store only: GIA.

There are completely useless walk-wise. They may be either worn to bed, or as I said earlier, worn on those occasions when you are either chauffeured around town, or, better yet, need the assistance of a wheelchair and happened to be able, at the same time, be able to display your sexy legs.

At their original price, $225, I wouldn't have bothered to purchase them (unless I hired that chauffeurs first). But marked down to as low as $70, this all made perfect sense. Even if this photo shoot is the last time I'm ever going to wear them.
Plus, did I mention they make a fantastic centre piece for a home art show?

Straw Red Bag, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

On another, more accessorial note, I've spotted the above clutch at Spring shoe store. Made of bamboo "straw" and imitation red patent leather. Nice little closure detail. These would go well with the abovementioned stilettos both clour and texture wise, yet without looking too matched up.

Absence

Absence, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

It's been many hours and many days since he took his love away in an email with 301 words and 1,244 characters (not including spaces), dated Sat, 3 Mar 2007 17:31:26.

It was never easy and it never will. But at times it's easier and at other times its more difficult. For instance: it used to be extremely easy when he would go on a business trip out of town for a while. I would subconciously convince myself that the only reason for his absence in my life is caused by the business trip. And he will come back soon.

Now he is on a business trip. And I'm having the hardest time that I haven't had in a long time. Not even when he is around and I want to kiss him and shouldn't. Not even when he is around and I want to tell him how much I love him or how cute the blackheads on his nose are - and instead I would just tease him to release that stress and hate myself for making silly tasteless jokes.

This time I am full of so much bullshit I can't take it anymore. What can I do - I just miss him. And what is there to do except for feeling insulted when you call him at work there, out of town, and when you leave a message you can't even tell them "of course he has my number, he's been living with me for the last four years". Or when you try to reach him at the hotel where he said he would stay and isn't really staying, and the receptionist at the desk asks "are you sure he is not staying with someone else?". Of course not. Even a 10 bedroom mansion wouldn't be big enough to host the ghost of his mother AND another woman. Let alone a crowded hotel room in a god forsaken little town up North, probably filled with plywood furniture and the sheets are not even white but have stupid flowers on them that can't let him fall asleep.

Crocs Going Frilly

Frilly Green Top, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Frilly spaghetti strap top, from Jo76, to go with the frilly green Crocs look:

Crocs Going Frilly, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

I was trying to make my Crocs look a little less clumsy and a little prettier with these frilly socks. Paired with a matching colour and not any less frilly top (see above) and with a pair of cropped jeans, these almost looked casually chic. Almost is the key word here. They were also not half bad as far a comfort goes...
My next trial look with Crocs will have to include full length pants. Cropped ones just don't help the clumsy look here and make them look bigger than they even are!

It's time for a sock change... purse!

Spotted these at Chocolate Mousse this morning. Aren't they cute? In fact, they even kinda make sense in their own awkward way... I imagine they would stretch with the change to accommodate more of that worthless weight.

Non-Slip Pebbled Nylons

Pebbled Nylons, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

These trouser sock knee high nylons from Secret are equipped with rows of silicone circles and dots to avoid slipping inside your sleek office shoes. While I can't say they are particularly practical (they are slippery just as any other nylons, I've noticed), they are a dream come true for any shoe fetishizer who also happened to be addicted to popping bubble wrap. You can get both your obsessions covered all in one: socks and circles to get rid of. They peel quite readily after a few wearings, and just like warts, they beg to be removed from that sheer nylon sole...

Here is the step-by-step for the pebble removal novice:

Le Marquis de Sarto

Spotted these colourful patent leather peep toe flats a couple of days ago at The Bay. They were separated into two pairs on two different shelves, and I just had to get them back together as a colourful family... In all honesty, I haven't tried them on. The reason: Franco Sarto makes painful shoes. All the pairs I ever ownde from this design really hurt. Even if the design is usually sleek and sassy. And they weren't even high heels!

Trying them on will be too tempting and than I'll end up with tortured soles... I've learned my lesson, and taking photos is as close now get to the Marquis de Sarto.

All Hail The Leggings

All Hail The Legings, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Spotted these funky fishnets leggings at Sears this weekend when was looking for a bathing suit. They are by Jessica and come in all kinds of patterns, as you can see below. There was also a lacy one that came through even more blurry than thee photos did, so I've left it out of this post...

To Croc or Not To Croc?

Crocs Display 02, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Clearly, the only reason for the extreme popularity of Crocs is their shameless, nonchalant ugliness. They just hang on the legs sort of like an oversized version of this:

We *heart* MJs, originally uploaded by velusariot.

Looks cute on a doll, looks hideous on full-sized people.

To their defense - they are often recommended for being both super comfortable and practical. I can't comment on the second pro, because I haven't yet found a pair that quite fit my feet: they were either sloppily loose or overly tight.

So, to Croc or not to Croc was easy for me to figure out until this summer:

This summer, Crocs seem to try to make amends to their explicit uglicity. Two new models came out which are significantly different than the original design, the Mary Janes and the ballerina flats. And I have to say: the Mary Janes are considerable in my opinion. They are a much more graceful rendition of the original Crocs. So much more graceful that they actually look proportional to my feet (well, sort of in the way that Birkenstock or Teva shoes do... But with brightful colours) I can now seriously think about the practical benefits of Crocs without shuddering with horror of the thought of placing them on my snobby feet.

The only thing in question is the colour (not too many colours are available in that covetable Mary Jane design), and perhaps you could help me decide between the metallic silver or the pistachio green:

The ballerinas are not quite to my taste. I feel they're overly done. It's ok to have OK looking Crocs, but ballerina slip-ons are a bit much: this time they look like enlarged Barbie slippers...

Crocs Ballerine Lavender, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

What do you think about Crocs? Yay, nay or yuck?
Are there any of the new models that appeal to you? Favourite colours? And do you like the decorating buttons?

P.s. forgive the dreadful sight of the stripes on my feet - these are just marks from the elastic straps of the ballerina flats I was wearing for this window-shopping expedition...

Shoe Quote of the Day

"Really and truly you can never have too many pairs; they are all different. You need a pair for every mood — and everyone knows that women have a lot of different moods.”

Window Shopping: The Sexiest Shoes Ever

DSC02577.JPG, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Could shoes be any sexier?
These are by far THE sexiest shoes ever, cream pumps I've ever seen or tried. They are from Diesel with a contrasting outlining stripe detail in red patent leather.
Don't you just adore those little toe-cleavage windows? And the open outstep... Hmmm.... They look so perfect they seem like the could have belonged to an art museum.

DSC02576.JPG, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Only downside is: they are as steep as falling off the cliff. Perfect for a night out on a wheelchair.

This might just explain why even though they were originally priced at $249.99 (before tax!) just about a month ago, they went all the way down to $69.99. I guess not too many gals choose to display their feet while eliminating the ability to walk in them.

Irregular Choice Office Window Shopping

DSC02570.JPG, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Irregular design by Irregular Choice: the suede wrapped bow detail continues on to the outer side of the foot, and is held in place by a snap-button. These are cute, but seemed somewhat
clumsy on my feet. Not sure why. I just don't think I could pull off the right statements with these ones.

Window Shopping with BCBG Black & White Pumps

DSC02567.JPG, originally uploaded by Theresa Di Moan.

Perhaps these are not quite as bluntly sexy as the Diesel hotties, they are more classy and professional even, but with a twist... And that's what makes them so special in my opinion. And also, did I mention how comfortable they are? I would have gotten them even for a full price (which I would have never done with a 3-1/2" tall stiletto.

I am just trying them here, wearing cropped jeans, but I can't wait to try them on again wearing black trousers or a knee high skirt with a pantyhose... They would look so sharp yet funky enough to be worn by me...
